It is funny, but also people do tend to forget about the delicious wines of Portugal. Neipoort makes an amazing, light bodied, crisp Baga, part of the Drink Nat Cool label!
People, perhaps, but not me, Kate! 😂 When I think more about it, I think the reason for no Portuguese wines in this particular article was that all of these came from the Netherlands (bar one Sicilian wine) and the Portuguese reds we get in this country are overwhelmingly the full-bodied, typically fleshy reds from Douro or Alentejo. I love a nice light Jaen or Negramole, for example, but they'd be very hard to find in Amsterdam...
Love these choices. I would add a Baga from Bairrada to it- shocking, I know!
Haha! With hindsight, it's weird that I didn't include any Portuguese wines at all!

Fair enough- I have to ship 70% of my Portuguese wines from the coast of from Portugal because Midwest America has zero appreciation for it.
Pinot Noir from the Loire, and Gamay from Savoie 😮 Never too old to learn! 💗
Glad I could be of service!
