Vicky I’m going through a similar quandary. I’ve not been feeling well for the past few weeks and have dramatically cut down on wine. The good thing is though I’ve ruled out it has anything to do with wine though so I’m taking the enjoyment over consequences again. It will be fantastic if we can meet up in Alentejo. Loved reading your experience of the Azores taste bud blaster - I’ve tried a few from there and had an equally as explosive one.
The struggle is real! My cold took a turn for the worse over the weekend, so I've also not been drinking for a few more days... What on earth will we write about?! I hope you feel better soon, and that the relaxing properties of the wine at least help a bit.
I'll be in Alentejo (staying in Evora) from 15 March through 5 April (although I think I need to spend a couple of days in the UK during that time). If you happen to be nearby, it would be great to meet a fellow wine writer IRL!
Somehow I missed this article! Ha! Racing acidity is for sure a thing. I probably should have mentioned it- but my pairings were so creamy it definitely dulled that acid down!
That Strato wine sounds yum! And if it cures a cold…. 👍 Luke Flunder’s Portuguese wine spree sounds intriguing. I looking forward to my own Portuguese wine and food spree in a few weeks! Feel better!
The sore throat has now turned into incessant sneezing... So I'm not sure the wine cured anything 🤧 But at least it tastes good! Hope you have a great trip when you come to Portugal 😊

Yup, cheese is the answer! Then again, when is cheese not the answer 😂
Truer words have never been written!
Severance Season 2!!! I cannot WAIT to start watching that. Just need to get sick or something ;P
Haha, it has its perks!
